Mission
Our project aims to inform on topics related to gender identity with scientific rigor, making accessible content that is often confined to academic literature or fragmented across unreliable sources.
We believe the dominant narrative about trans people is incomplete. Difficulties are discussed, successes rarely. Entrepreneurs, artists, lawyers, scientists: trans people are playing key roles in society. We are here to tell these stories too, always backed by sources.
We want to be an accessible resource for both trans and cisgender people who want to better understand these topics, in clear and respectful language.
The project is founded and curated by Andrea Buttarelli, lecturer at IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) and entrepreneur in the tech and AI sector. Every article is written, verified and curated from peer-reviewed sources, with the goal of putting technical skills at the service of the trans community. We are organizing technical workshops on AI, programming and marketing with trans and LGBT associations.
Methodology
The quality of information depends on its sources. That's why we adopt a rigorous approach in selecting and citing bibliographic references.
- Every article cites peer-reviewed sources, i.e., publications subjected to review by the scientific community.
- Content is regularly updated to reflect the latest evidence and developments in research.
- We maintain full transparency on methods: every relevant claim includes a reference to the original source, directly accessible.
This approach allows us to offer reliable content and contribute to an informed, fact-based public discussion.

Open Source
TransWiki is an open source project. The source code, articles and all content are public and available on GitHub.
Anyone can contribute: report errors, suggest improvements, add sources or write new articles. Transparency is not just about the sources we cite, but the project itself.
